“I really appreciate all of the hard work and effort put in by the Mainland team. This pump installation project has been tough, with its fair share of challenges over the year, but the Mainland team’s eagerness to work collaboratively and help us reach this successful end is greatly appreciated.”

“We are extremely happy and impressed with the job that Mainland Machinery did in replacing our main distributor and supplying a new platform. This was not an easy job, and I was a little nervous about using a new contractor, but your team put me at ease right away and the job went smoother than I expected. As well, they were always polite and professional. In the future, with any other big jobs, Mainland will be my first call.”

“TYCROP believes in the power of partnering for success. The team at Mainland Machinery embraces and embodies this approach to business, from initial discussions to design, product creation, and installation. We include Mainland in our business development plans whenever possible. When something is wrong, you can count on them to help make things right. We highly recommend their organization and could not ask for a better partner.”

FAQs

Mainland Machinery serves bulk material handling industries across British Columbia, including sawmills, pulp and paper, concrete and ready-mix, aggregates including sand and gravel, biomass pellet plants, animal feed and pet food facilities, ports and terminals, and other industrial processing operations.

Screw conveyors commonly plug when handling wet, sticky, fibrous, or inconsistent materials. Common causes include material buildup, bridging, inadequate conveyor sizing, excessive moisture, worn components, and insufficient discharge capacity. Biomass, wood waste, and some aggregate materials are particularly prone to plugging.

Repair is often appropriate when wear is limited to components such as bearings, liners, flights, or drives. Replacement is usually recommended when the conveyor casing is severely worn, capacity requirements have changed, plugging issues are recurring, or lifecycle maintenance costs exceed the value of a retrofit. A professional inspection can determine the most cost-effective option.

Enclosed belt conveyors reduce dust emissions, spillage, contamination, and weather exposure while providing gentle material handling and lower maintenance requirements. They are well suited for long conveying distances and high-capacity applications where cleanliness, safety, and product integrity are important.

Bucket elevators move bulk materials vertically using buckets attached to a belt, making them ideal for high-capacity vertical lifting. Screw conveyors use a rotating screw to move material horizontally, inclined, or vertically over shorter distances and are often better suited for controlled feeding and metering applications.

Industrial sampling systems are used in grain handling, feed processing, biomass, wood products, ports and terminals, aggregates, mining, minerals processing, chemical manufacturing, and other bulk material industries where representative product sampling is required for quality control and regulatory compliance.
